Around 60 airlines connect Hamburg directly with around 130 national and international destinations. The biggest airlines (by passenger number) are: Eurowings, Lufthansa, Ryanair, easyJet and Condor. Around 1,000 destinations worldwide can be reached with only one change. In 2017, around 160,000 flight movements took place and generated EUR 264.5 million.

Situation
In 2014/15, Heitzig advised Hamburg Airport on landline- and mobile communications for the first time. After that, the tender was carried out together with our purchasing department. The results achieved were significant. In a strategically established follow-up project for technology topics, Heitzig consultants were able to provide valuable Input to the departments involved over a project period of 1.5 Years, with the consultants moderating, coordinating and project management. The findings from various workshops and specialist rounds were incorporated into the topics of Hamburg Airport. In 2018, Heitzig was again commissioned to accompany the procurement process and replacement of outdated telecommunications systems.
Objective
The objective was to switch to SIP telephony. The offer already available to Hamburg Airport was technically and economically tested by Heitzig, with the recommendation to undertake an architectural swing with the recommendation. Heitzig accompanied us here, too, conceptually in the procurement phase as well as In the preparation of the tender. In the meantime, the new system has been successfully migrated and installed by a new provider.
